Theoretical Training — Part 141 (On-Site)

105 Total Ground Hours Required

Ground School Structure

For Part 141: Theoretical instruction is conducted simultaneously with flight training. Students can choose between group classes or individual one-to-one classes for on-site theory.

Ground School Breakdown:

  • PPL Theory: 40 hours – Basic aerodynamics, weather, regulations, navigation
  • IR Theory: 30 hours – IFR procedures, instrument approaches, weather systems
  • CPL Theory: 35 hours – Advanced aerodynamics, commercial operations, performance

Part 141 Pathway — From Zero to Commercial

Complete structured training across three certificate levels

PPL (Private Pilot)

35 Flight Hours • 40 Ground Hours
  • Minimum 20 hours dual instruction
  • Minimum 10 hours solo flight time
  • 5 hours solo cross-country
  • 3 hours night dual instruction
  • 3 hours instrument flight training
  • FAA Knowledge Test + PPL Checkride

IR (Instrument Rating)

35 Flight Hours • 30 Ground Hours
  • Minimum 35 hours instrument flight training
  • 15 hours with CFII in aircraft
  • 3 hours within 60 days of checkride
  • Long IFR cross-country (250+ nm)
  • Multiple precision & non-precision approaches
  • FAA IR Knowledge Test + Checkride

CPL (Commercial Pilot)

120 Flight Hours • 35 Ground Hours
  • Minimum 55 hours dual instruction
  • 10 hours complex aircraft training
  • 5 hours night VFR conditions
  • Cross-country over 300 nm total distance
  • Advanced maneuvers & commercial procedures
  • FAA CPL Knowledge Test + Checkride

Total Time Requirements (Part 141)

  • PPL: 35 hours minimum
  • IR: 35 hours instrument training
  • CPL: 120 hours (55 dual + 65 solo/PIC)
  • Total: 190 hours minimum

Ground School Hours:

  • PPL Theory: 40 hours

  • Total: 105 hours minimum
